Right, now I really want you to focus on getting a handle on your TIME.
Look into time-management techniques – these are techniques I use to save time in my working day and to work efficiently and effectively. As an entrepreneur you must make time for ‘mindset’ because it is as important as any strategy you will learn in this book. It took me a while to realise I was on the edge of burn-out, but I can honestly say it was life changing when I made these changes.
1. Making time
Know when to say ‘no’
It is easy to get swept along in someone else's priorities, but remember these aren't necessarily yours.
Go through your diary and make sure you have daily slots for you and your priorities.
Use a weekly planner to mark out:
- breaks;
- lunch hour;
- exercise;
- personal appointments;
- calls;
- emails;
- small to-do items that are quick and easy to do;
- larger project time to focus on a bigger goal;
- don't forget to box off ad-hoc time for those unexpected joys that enter your day;
- write in any known meetings or appointments and see where you are at.
