Summary

Importing a database into a WaveMaker project generates a Hibernate ORM model and adds a database service utilizing that model to our project. The client-side live data components such as live form and live panel make it very easy to use this domain model in the project to create forms. However, the live variable query model is strictly AND-based and therefore not useful for all queries. WaveMaker Studio tools HQL queries for such situations. By being aware of our HQL query return types, we can integrate the more advanced HQL queries we need with the convenience of the live data client form tooling. For situations where HQL is still not enough, we can utilize the database service from custom Java code to gain even further control.
