Chapter 8. Utilizing Web Services

Web services enable software systems to exchange data more easily. Whether using the SOAP protocol or REST style, web services are, quite frankly, everywhere. As such, they can be a valuable source of data for any web application.

Studio's Web Services tools generate services from basically a URL; either an example URL or the URL to the WSDL. Not all web services can be imported successfully. For those that do import, there's no faster or easier way to use web services in a project. In this chapter, we will examine the four types of web services supported for WaveMaker applications. Specifically, we'll look at how to utilize the following:

  • Web Feed Services
  • SOAP services by importing a WSDL
  • REST services that return ...
