When the web first came along, website development was an expensive process. Many 20-year-olds who had a basic understanding of HTML — the language that web pages are written in — became very rich, and those costs were passed onto the businesses that hired them. As the web has matured, most of the tools to get a website up and running have become easy to use and cheap, or in many cases free, as you will see in this chapter.
