Managing charging of electric vehicles in electricity transmission and distribution networks
Abstract
This chapter discusses the problem of managing the charging process of a large fleet of electric vehicles (EVs). First, the attention will be focused on the potential limitations in the quality of service coming from the management of EVs at conventional households, according to traditional fixed-rate charging strategies. Then, smart variable-rate energy management strategies will be introduced.
