Proposing

I approach this chapter with the tiniest degree of trepidation. My concern is that, in devoting a whole chapter to the skills at the directive end of the range of coaching approaches, I might be seen to be giving equal weight to these skills. This is not what I intend to communicate.

In any coaching conversation, I spend approximately 90% of my time following interest or, to use my previous term, at the non-directive end of the range, because that is what is most effective.
