8 Using Simple Services

The previous three chapters deal with data in all its glory, from displaying data in Flex to rendering, formatting, and validating data, to the data involved in client-server interactions. In this chapter and the next you’ll actually begin performing client-server communications. As mentioned several times over, I’ll be using PHP as the server-side technology of choice. Not only is it my preferred technology, but increased support for PHP is a big feature of Flash Builder 4.
