12 Alerts and Pop-Ups
All of the examples in the book up to this point have taken place entirely within the primary application window. There are many times, though, when you have the need to create secondary windows, be they very basic notifications or closer in style and functionality to the primary application window. Doing either in Flex is a snap. In this chapter you’ll first learn about Alert, used to create notifications with very little user interface. You’ll also see how to customize the Alert to make it as useful as possible. The second part of the chapter walks through creating and customizing secondary windows that can pop up separately from the primary window.
