lations. These fuses are the subject of BS 3036. (See Figure 8.2.)
The fuses are manufactured with ratings up to about 100 A and
are suitable for use in alternating-current circuits operating at up to
250 V. In clearing, the fuse element melts and so interrupts the
circuit current. The copper of the element partly vaporises and
partly spreads itself over the surface of the carrier. It operates
perfectly satisfactorily with overloads and fairl<
