Lubrication of Distribution Electrical Equipment |
The primary purpose of lubrication is to reduce friction between moving metal surfaces. To keep metal surfaces separated, lubricating grease should wet the metal and resist being displaced by the pressures it encounters. A lubricant can also serve as a coolant, prevent corrosion, and block the entry of contaminants. Satisfactory grease will also resist separation, be reasonably stable, and not significantly change its nature within the temperature range for which it was designed [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8].
Lubricants are widely used in electrical connectors, switches, and circuit breakers. Lubricants improve the performance of electrical apparatus ...
