Anion exchange membranes attract quite a lot of attention due to their repel-
lent effect to positive vanadium ions, and appears to be benecial to mini-
mise the vanadium ion cross-mixing [31,32]. Jian etal. prepared quaternised
poly(phthalazinone ether ketone/sulphone) membranes and investigated the
effect of the amination agent on these polymers [33,34]. The positive-charged
quaternised groups in membranes can effectively repel vanadium ions and,
