10.1.3. Floorplanning model
We can classify floorplans into two categories for discussions: (1) slicing floor-plans and (2) non-slicing floorplans. A slicing floorplan can be obtained by repetitively cutting the floorplan horizontally or vertically, whereas a non-slicing floorplan cannot. The given dimension of each hard module must be kept. All modules are free of rotation; if a module is rotated, its width and height are exchanged.
