INTEGRATED CIRCUITS

As the complexity of integrated circuits (ICs) increases, so does their ability to influence the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of any given application. Often there can be benefits as the closer proximity of components integrated into the silicon, shorter lead lengths (measured in microns rather than millimetres) and embedding of functions reduces the opportunity for radiated emissions and limits the power supply variations to within a few devices.
