Different people learn in different ways. Even those with similar levels of intelligence may absorb material very differently. For example, I learn best from pictures and analogies. Some of my colleagues learn better from code examples or by listening to someone speak. Still others never seem to “get it” until they have done a thing themselves.

I am going to suggest that patterns in software represent, among other things, an opportunity to build a professional language, if they are understood correctly.
