Active nanocomposites for food and beverage packaging

This chapter presents some recent developments in the area of active nanocomposites for food packaging applications. Active nanocomposites are advanced alternatives to conventional active plastic technologies or active sachets for the extension of the quality and safety of packaged food products. They are polymer blends that contain nanostructured materials which confer activity to the food packaging structures.
