February 2022. The UK government revealed the existence of a “serious cyber security incident” affecting the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).[1]
February 2022. Avita Health System in the UK detected unauthorized activity and prevented a security incident. The company was able to secure the network and restore operations before a breach of private information could occur.[2]
November 2021. The hacking group Belarusian Cyber‐Partisans attacked the state‐run railway's computer system. The group managed to encrypt or destroy internal databases, causing delays to trains and affecting the movement of Russian troops.[3]
October 2021. Ecuador's largest private bank, Banco Pichincha, confirmed that it suffered a cyberattack. The bank had to shut down portions of its network, which disrupted operations and took its ATM and online banking portal offline.[4]
August 2021. Poly Network is a platform that connects different blockchains. On August 10, 2021, Poly Network suffered an anonymous attack in which over $610 million in cryptocurrencies was stolen. However, the attacker started to return half the funds several days later.[5]
