Abstract
This chapter provides an in-depth assessment of the security issues and threats associated with the Internet of Things (IoT), a rapidly emerging business that has integrated smart devices into various aspects of daily life. It analyses the shift in connectivity caused by IoT concentrating on its influence in homes, enterprises, and public spaces. The focus is on developing vulnerabilities in IoT and smart device ecosystems, as well as the solutions needed to control these risks. The unusual network behavior patterns produced by IoT devices, increased risk of attacks owing to their extensive data processing, and specific incidents where IoT devices were utilized in large-scale network attacks are all key topics. The chapter evaluates the security issues found in a variety of IoT devices.
