14Waves as Noise Sources
The waves (transient) more commonly encountered within systems are discussed in this chapter. These waves are not as pure as drawn here; some parasitic oscillations from the transformer and other components will be superimposed on the waveforms. In real-world observation, these waveforms have rise and fall times due to parasitic effects; however, they are shown in the text as pure step functions that are impossible to achieve. Each voltage, or current, waveform is derived from the equivalent Fourier equations.
