Whether you are in the process of establishing your analytics community or have not yet started, you need to understand some of the critical things that will make your community successful and something that persists for the long term.

In this chapter you meet the team from Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) that manages a global analytics community operating the internal business intelligence services as well as analytics as a service for a number of their customers. In the following pages I share the lessons learned by the team at JLL, their suggestions for other organizations, and some examples of their work.

First up, meet Fiona Gordon from Sydney, who manages the global analytics strategy for JLL, a role in which she focuses primarily on tools, processes, and methodologies. As part of Fiona's job she is tasked with bringing together the various aspects of analytics across JLL, which include internal business intelligence and analytics as a service. At the time of writing, Fiona was in the middle of a project to bring consistency to every design aspect of visual analysis, dashboarding, and reporting across the business.
