Why do STEM and trades fields have such a hard time attracting and keeping women on board? The feeling of invisibility, of not being acknowledged, and of being overlooked or outright discriminated against runs deep. One part of fighting the culture that causes this is making sure companies are supplying women with the proper PPE (personal protective equipment) and safety footwear. As advocates, we cannot do this without raising awareness of the issues, and companies cannot solve the problem without providing safety footwear options. That is where Juno Jones comes in. But my own journey begins a bit farther back in time.
