This chapter discusses Branch QoS considerations and designs, including the following:
Unidirectional applications
Branch LAN edge ingress classification
Branch NBAR policies for worm identification and policing
Chapter 13, “WAN Aggregator QoS Design,” discussed the QoS design recommendations for WAN aggregators in detail. For the most part, theses designs also apply to branch routers located at the far end of the WAN links. However, at least three unique considerations must be made for branch router QoS design. This chapter examines in detail these considerations and their related designs.
