Zinc alloys Zinc alloys have good electrical and thermal conductivity,
high corrosion resistance, low melting points. Typical
uses are as car door handles, toys, car carburettor bodies -
components that in general are produced by die casting.
Non-ferrous alloys have, in general, these advantages over ferrous alloys:
1 Good resistance to corrosion without special processes having to be carried
out.
2 Most non-ferrous alloys have a much lower density and hence lighter
weight components can be produced.
3 Casting is often easier because of the lower melting points.
