6.11. Summary
As you can see, XML can be a useful tool for sharing data between Java and non-Java environments using a relational database. The cases we presented show how to use XML that is stored in a column within a relational database and also how to move data in and out of the database using XML as an interim format. In the next chapter, we will explore ways to exchange XML data using asynchronous messaging.
