Unity refers to the files that will be used to create your project as an asset. They are the building blocks inside a Unity project and they can be in the form of image files, 3D models, sound files, code files, and so on. Assets from Unity, such as materials, textures, animations or scripts can be created in a project by either clicking on Assets|Create on the top menu bar or by right-clicking inside a folder on the Project window and selecting Create.
When we work with external assets, such as an image that's been downloaded from the internet or a 3D model we've designed, we can add them to the project by dragging them from an external folder (for example, from a folder on Windows Explorer) into one of the folders of the Project ...
