Access Manager WebSEAL can handle all the Web authentication and
authorization requests, but it was decided that the Access Manager for
WebSphere Application Server plug-in was required to integrate the WebSphere
Application Server authorization decisions into the Access Manager managed
name space. The implementation of the plug-in also created the need for a
trusted connection between Access Manager WebSEAL and WebSphere
Application Server. These issues are discussed further in 10.5.5, Tivoli Access
Manager for WebSphere on page 232.
