Transitioning through stages

There are a number of guidelines and activities for ensuring smooth transition between stages. Evolution through the stages should be carried out step by step rather than by leaping across stages. It is good programme and project practice to carry out transformation in measured steps, so as to avoid corporate shock from leaping too quickly or too far.
