In addition to its use as a vehicle for buying and selling products and services, a Contract can be used to employ people. The Employment discussed in Chapter 13 is, in fact, a Contract. This is shown in Figure 15-5 Of course, calling a Position Assignment a sub-type of Line Item may seem to be pushing the point, but a Line Item is the fact that something is being ordered and supplied in the Contract. Normally, this is an Activity Specification or a physical Asset, but using it here to also be delivery of the services that constitute a Position is not that far off.
