The structure of Maintenance Work Orders is very similar to that of Production Work Orders. Indeed, the super-type, Work Order covers a lot of the same conceptual ground for both, as shown in Figure 16-5. Similarly, Maintenance Task, a sub-type of Activity, encompasses both Production Step, already discussed, and Maintenance Task.

That is, just as each Production Work Order may be to authorize one or more Production Steps—then each Maintenance Work Order may be to authorize one or more Maintenance Tasks.
