Parameters and Characteristics

Previously, both in the Abstraction Level 0 model and in each of the Abstraction Level 1 models, we saw the concept of a Characteristic that was given values for particular objects (Party, Activity, Asset, and Geography). The idea was that each of these could be described by values assigned in the course of collecting data about the respective objects. In each case, the Characteristic Value of a Characteristic was both for a particular object (a Party, an Activity, an Asset, or a Geographic Location), and given by a Party. Depending on the category, Characteristic could be “number of employees” (for a Company), “height” (for a Person), duration (for an Activity), “width” (for an Asset), and so forth.[(]
