It is possible to imagine a computer portal being used by the bank’s officer opening an account for a customer. The portal would begin by having the officer enter all of the Party’s information (Name, Address, et cetera). Then it would call up the desired Instrument Specification. The computer would then display Instrument Characteristics that have been assigned to that Instrument Specification, and request values for them.
