An Information Resource is any collection of concepts expressed in a form that can be communicated to others. It can be, among other things:

·         A Document – a piece of text that could be a book, an e-mail, a catalogue, or a cable message. This includes virtual documents, such as web sites.

·         An Image – either a still photograph or a moving picture, either on film or as a digital video. This includes everything from a YouTube video to a major motion picture.

·         An Other Information Resource – such as, for example, a computer program.
