Procedures
Procedures are a very important tool for describing and understanding how a telecommunication system works. Some procedures have already been described in previous chapters of this book, together with the presentation of the EPC key concepts. In this chapter, we provide a brief introduction to some additional procedures used in EPS. It should be noted, however, that it is not feasible within this book to include a complete description of all procedures that exist in EPS. Instead, we have chosen a few key procedures that should give a good overview of some of the most important use cases. Interested readers can consult the 3GPP technical specifications TS 23.060, 23.401, and 23.402 for complete descriptions.
