Work/Life Integration Challenges Are Worldwide
Abstract
Findings from the largest survey ever undertaken of work/life integration issues among publishing scientists demonstrated serious concerns about retaining scientific talent, sustaining innovation within the current science workplace, and keeping both women and men engaged in research endeavors. The data showed that lack of flexibility in the workplace, dissatisfaction with career development opportunities, and low salaries are driving both men and women to reconsider their profession.
