Getting Proper Reference
Having good reference when you are starting out is absolutely
imperative. You don’t have to model on top of it in the isomet-
ric views, but you do have to look at it and rotate around your
model saying, “Does mine look like that?” Your model has to
look good from the front, but if you turn it 45 degrees to the
right does it look like a mutant? If so, you need to do some
tweaking from that vantage point. We’ll talk about this more in
depth in this chapter, but just keep in mind you’re not always
going to have the luxury of looking at the model from straight
