What’s in a name? A defense of “dramaturg”

For as long as dramaturgy has been practiced in America, demands for a seat at the table have echoed throughout conferences, articles, and teachings. Currently, dramaturgy has become a much more accepted practice with more opportunities than ever for dramaturgs to learn and work. Essential Dramaturgy is a timely and robust contribution to the expanding and diversifying field.
