The facilitator of a focus group meeting wears lots of hats during a focus group session. It's not as easy as "ask a question and get an answer."
It's very important to get the focus group off on the right foot. There's a lot of information to convey to the group. I'm reminded of those restaurant servers who try to impress you by not writing down your order then have to come back and ask you to repeat yourself.
Don't try to impress everyone by remembering every little thing in your head, especially if you're collecting feedback from several focus groups for a single project. It's better to offer consistent information. Here's a sample script template you can use:
