One of the most important lessons we learned from deploying SharePoint 2007 was the importance of training and persistent communications. Despite what we all hoped would be a very intuitive interface for end users, not all Site Designers followed or even understood design and usability best practices. As a result, some users were confused and disappointed with the product. Moreover, many organizations adopted a “build it and they will come” approach to both training users and communicating the benefits and value of their new SharePoint solutions.
