* Unix systems often store dates as the number of seconds (or milliseconds) since midnight on 1/1/1970.

* An alternate configuration file, /etc/pam.conf, can also be used, but the files in /etc/pam.d take precedence.

* There are also several other password checking modules. This is the most common.

* Solaris 8 uses the file /etc/default/dhcp.

* Remember that absolute OIDs begin with a period.
