Software Basics

B.1 Minitab

Minitab is a graphical-interface statistics package originally developed at Pennsylvania State University. All Minitab commands described in this text were tested in release 14.20.

The Minitab window is shown in Figure B.1. There are two main parts to the window. The top part is called the session window. The session window displays many of the outputs. The bottom part is called the worksheet. Data are entered into the worksheet in rows and columns. Each row is labeled with a number, and each column has a default name (C1, C2, …), but columns can be labeled with user-specified names as well.
