What do you own? Do you hold the patent for a gizmo that’s going to revolutionize life as we know it? Good for you. That’s certainly a rare asset. Do you have a tiny island in the Caribbean? That, too, is not on everyone’s list of “haves.” Most of us count the standard possessions, such as a home, a car, some savings, perhaps some artwork and jewelry, and maybe a few family heirlooms.
