Tips for Measuring

Here are some simple ways you can improve the level 1 evaluation process and its results:

  • Consider the novelty of e-learning. E-learning is new. Learners may find it strange and unfamiliar. Their responses may not accurately predict the long-term potential of your efforts. Before evaluating e-learning, make sure that all learners surveyed have the basic e-learning and computer skills necessary to benefit from the course. And, expect a high dropout rate for early courses.

  • Analyze data to gain insights. Use response data to pinpoint problem areas in your courses. Monitor when and where learners give up. Try to figure out why learners quit.
