So You’re Not in Sales?
A FEW YEARS BACK, I was living in Washington, D.C. The first 95-degree day that summer was also the first day of the season that broke 80 degrees. We’d had a long winter and an unseasonably cool spring, so even by mid-June I had never cranked up the air conditioning in the row house where I was living with my husband.
When I did flip the thermostat on to turn on the air conditioning for the first time on that sweltering day, nothing happened.
