Chapter 3. Implement IP address management
Networks can be complex, with many components and services combining to provide the environment required to support your organization’s users’ devices and apps. Windows Server 2016 server roles, such as Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System (DNS), provide fundamental IP connectivity. Consequently, it is important that you are able to easily manage and maintain these services.
You can use the Windows Server 2016 IP address management (IPAM) server feature to manage and maintain both DHCP and DNS, even in a multiple Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) forest environment.
