Experiences with Erickson: Personal Therapy, Supervision, Cases Reported by Former Patients, and Cases Observed
Within the contexts of personal therapy and professional supervision, Milton H. Erickson, M.D., helped me develop into a more positive and effective person and therapist. In this essay, I will present some of my more memorable experiences with Dr. Erickson—experiences that portray him both as a person and as a therapist. I will also relate some experiences reported to me by Erickson’s former patients and students. Too often Erickson is thought of as a brilliant technician.
