Part 5 z/OS-based stored
procedure builder for for
COBOL and PL/I
A stored procedure is a compiled program, stored on a DB2 local or remote server, that can
execute SQL statements. A separate client application uses a SQL CALL statement to invoke
the stored procedure. The new support in IBM WebSphere Studio Enterprise Developer
V5.1.2 is designed to assist you in developing DB2 UDB for z/OS stored procedures in
COBOL or PL/I. It will enable you to:
򐂰 Create new stored procedures using a wizard
򐂰 Build and register stored procedures on a z/OS system
򐂰 Run stored procedures on a z/OS system
򐂰 Debug stored procedures on a z/OS system
򐂰 View result sets, messages, and parameters in the Output view
򐂰 Drop stored procedures from the database
