1 Introduction to the Advertising Revolution

The most vivid memory of my childhood is when I was eight years old and pointing a knife at my 11-year-old brother. It was a carving knife, 12 inches long and razor sharp, with two points at the tip for picking up large hunks of meat.

My brother was a foot away in our kitchen, pointing an 8-inch chef’s knife at me. We were both in perfect form, standing sideways, bouncing on our toes, ready to strike. We both have our superhero pajamas on and we were laughing that uncontrollably wild, beautiful, insane laughter kids get when they’re up past their bedtime and hyperactivity has taken over. Our parents were out of the house. Our babysitter was scared shitless.
