< Exploring New York City
New York was formed in 1898, when five boroughs (the Bronx, Brooklyn,
Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island) came together as one city. Each of the outer
boroughs has a unique personality and something compelling to offer. While Queens is an
up-and-coming center for the arts, the Bronx is the birthplace of hip hop, and Brooklyn
boasts a botanical garden and seaside amusement parks.
