Access 2000 and Office 2000 have come a long way in giving you powerful full-featured objects that you can program using VBA or even the UI. The command bars in Access 2000 are much more graceful to use than the menus, toolbars, and shortcut menus of previous versions of Access. The Assistant gives you a way to create personable help without having to deal with Windows help and compiling. Both command bars and the Assistant have object models that you can get to through VBA.
