Before we talk about Lean maintenance, we have to first consider the idea of maintenance itself. All assets, buildings included, deteriorate. This deterioration eventually compromises the ability of the building to house the activity for which it was developed. Consider these two business models, either of which may be important to you as a responsible facility manager:
