What’s behind Lopsidedness?
Lopsided leadership in all its forms stems from a bias toward one side of leadership and a prejudice against the other side. The leader identifies strongly with one worldview while at the same time thinking the less of the opposite.
The prejudice against one side is not usually overt, but it is very clear in subtext. One senior leader who overweighted driving for results and underweighted personal connection referred to relationship-building as “schmoozing.” A dead give-away.
